Get a Defender and you will get many waves.
Just done trips between Brisbane & Gladstone on the Bruce Highway towing the van. Even when towing a caravan they don't wave at other like driven caravanners. I even tried waving at a few solo discos with the same result. Snooty buggers whoever you are.

I have to say that I do sometimes get a wave from a Defender. Probably think I am strange though.

Just done a trip to Sydney and back, I saw at least a couple of dozen various models of Land Rover and waved at every one of them. I got one wave from a Disco 2 and shook hands with a Defender driver.
If you don't like trucks, stop buying stuff.
And I shook hands with a Disco 2 Driver.I have to say that I get quite a few waves from Discos. Generally the older and or more kitted out, the greater the success.
Cheers, Billy.
Keeping it simple is complicated.
In heavy traffic north of Nerang, on the way back, I spotted a white Defender towing a white camper. It had AULRO stickers and wheel cover. I managed to catch it up and sounded the horn, but had to concentrate on the traffic. TMFPP wound down the window and waved. She described the driver as 'a fellow with a beard', 'that narrows it down' I thought, 'it's not Jerry.'

If I take the Series out, I get waves from Deefer's and Series, but not Discos usually, although I agree with Cuppa about how kitted up they are. D3s and 4s never wave where I am.
But hey, I used to drive around in an MG. They all used to wave, but it dropped off. Probably they don't recognise the other car, or the phone is more important.
