If you pulled a stunt like that on a Minesite and a Mines Inspector saw you do it you would not only loose your job but the fine would be much higher that this Turkey received.
There is absolutely NO excuse for this sort of behaviour whatsoever and it is totally indefensible.

Let's face it in Sydney there are far too many of these type of near misses that go unreported every day, usually caused by bonehead drivers who don't care about anybody else on the road. This one ended as a near miss but that was only though sheer luck.
Please slow down and be sensible people! The extra 2 minutes to get there alive are insignificant when you consider the other option.

Truckie reckons his penalty was too harsh, what do you reckon?

Unfortunately carting fill through the agencies is a race to the bottom, and there will always be people there who begrudgingly put their hands up to take the work. They are paid that poorly that can not even afford to buy pants, or some King Gees like a proper Truckie, and have to resort to wearing tracky dacks, usually with stripes down the side.
Obviously the driver on the vid was on contract, as if he was on hourly they would be in convoy or stopped to go to the toilet, or held up in the terrible traffic.
If you want a glimpse into the mind , tune your UHF into their channel, but keep the kids away.

I have the missfortune to work(relief) with some of these gooses as we a have a truck based at a demand quarry.
This truck usually is supplying road base etc. for new housing estates.
From the first load to the last they think it's a race, quickest routes are always discussed while tailgating and pushing through the traffic
I don't play thier game and the boss renforces to all working there to "take it easy".
We are paid to be efficient not quick, I often let them pass only to catch them waiting to tip on site.
Strange thing is at the end of the day we get the same amount of work done and with far less stress and potential for damage.
It's a mind set thing as even on the last job of the day when they know it's over the still drive like a cut snake.

I prefer my regular gig feeding concrete plants at night.
No mud or open holes to dodge while clowns on machines want product it stupid places.
    Cheers, Kyle

I have a few guys that I try to get when I need trucks that do the most loads or consistently high, whether contract or hourly, their trucks are always at a high standard, they are courteous and don't play games, like milking loads and times and they are always in demand while the guys who want every last minute or try another load on their docket, wonder why they can't always get work when it gets quiet so they try to screw everyone when the do get some.

The UHF channel? Please, I prefer peace and quiet to mindless abuse. My UHF used to go on around Corowa, and off again at Inglewood. Even then, I'd keep it down, as some of the highway guys are no better, and what exactly do you learn?

My post was nothing to do with a trucks "rights" to be in the right hand lane, it was about their behaviour generally especially tailgating...... which ever lane they're in. I checked one not long ago who changed lanes 17 times over about 15 kays with not one indication and ended up 1 car in front of me at the exit lights. He sat as close as a couple of metres off the back of cars but where did he think they could go in fairly heavy traffic?
Don't give me any crap about their rights, a moron behind the wheel of any vehicle is a danger to all others and particularly so when driving a heavy vehicle.

My comment was directly aimed it your "hogging the right lane" (direct quote) nonsense, and that's it. They do have the right to drive in lanes, same as you, so it's not "crap".

The other points you make in this post I completely agree with. It's just that, in the half a million ks I have covered in the last five years, I see car drivers doing the same things, only much more often. Morons are morons, everywhere. They have become more prevalent lately.

Perhaps there should be an investigation on how he got his licence. How many more like him are out there, I wonder?
I’m pretty sure the dinosaurs died out when they stopped gathering food and started having meetings to discuss gathering food

A bookshop is one of the only pieces of evidence we have that people are still thinking
