I'm suspecting it's for holding cattle whilst you do something awful to them.

Im going with this too.
I've not seen inside one, but it's very clean as I imagine a cotton press would be,, perhaps to clean even, as I would expect to see some left over weeds or something , and I'm not sure what the steps are at the back.

Indeed it is. Called a Floatliner.

Different make, same thing. The trailer runs on super singles, and lifts itself and the 20 odd tonne of glass up. Then the pads are pneumatically pressed against the glass. There's a magnetised 'tarp' to seal up the floor and that's it.
