police officer resigns after allegedly assaulting motorbike rider

    anyone remember this?

Motorbike blasts through police checkpoint - Gets sign thrown at head. - YouTube

    an update:
the police officer resigned and is now in court accused of throwing a sign at the bike rider.

imho, maximum sentence should be handed to the "officer." Cops should never break the law, we place them in office to uphold the law and they should conduct themselves as an example to the rest.

maximum sentence should also be handed to the bike rider as he was nowhere near innocent.

The ex cop had a history of belligerent attitude towards the public - this incident was the last in a long line of events and after this he read the tea leaves and decided it was time to leave the police force. Agree a pretty stupid act and deserves a suitable punishment as did the goose on the bike.

Sometimes people who have the misfortune to deal with the public do over react but maybe chucking a sign at him was going to far and bloody dangerous as well. I approached a road works sometime back and the bloke displaying the "Stop/Go" sign was showing "Go" so I went and he turned around quick and very nearly smacked his sign down on the bonnet in a rage.
I jumped out of the motor and confronted him as it was his fault.... he was gobbing off to a mate and not watching the traffic. I quickly realised it wasn't worth the effort as he was just a thick head who'd passed some simple test and told to go and control traffic. That cop was probably at the end of his tether and over reacted.
Not a job I could or would do but I can emphasise with him as they have to put up with far more than I would......

Being a cop is not a job I would take on. Dealing with dickheads and scum all the time must take its toll on you. It takes a special person to put on the blue uniform and deal with every day problems that they face and come out "normal". Some people like the copper who threw the sign at the bloke did have a bit of a record and perhaps should give it away, which I believe he has done.
