Thread: There are drivers....and then there are drivers

I feel for you,, we have this every day, morning and night. People in the fast lane, going slower than the people in the slow lane, and at the same time the guy in the middle lane stays with them both, not allowing anyone who's vaguely confident in a car to pass 😡 Many people seem to want to break their necks to get in front of you, and then start going slower than your original speed.


And and they wonder why people get angry and start driving offensively. It's about time instructors started teaching road manners, and cops started booking for a "lack" of said manners.

Jim I see this every day, you just have to put up with it and keep on your toes all the time, no use complaining as others will just say build a bridge and get over it.
Attitudes of drivers on the road is just disgraceful and many are aggressive and think you are the problem as you are driving at the posted speed .

I wasn't particularly upset by their actions as it is almost expected these days. I just shake my head at their thoughtlessness

I find the left lane of the Sydney M1 is the fastest often particularly on weekends with fewer trucks.

So many drivers have an aversion to the left lane that I call it my private lane.

It is rarely difficult to switch to the centre lane to overtake some poor honest P plater trundling along at 90 or the odd truck which is usually doing 110Kmh anyway or the odd boat/caravan. LOL

It is not only driving, but for some people things like courtesy and consideration are words that do not exist. I worry for the type of society my grand kids will grow up in.

I often wondered if their behaviour on the road would be repeated in the queue at the supermarket.

Maybe the first 2 drivers didn't appreciate being overtaken by a TD5 D2 and the driver of the "Small car" may have thought that you were pushing the old girl a bit too hard and that you needed to slow her down for a bit of a rest after your overtaking mauver

A problem here in WA is if you sat in the "slow" lane you'd end up going somewhere you didn't intend to go. Constant lane changing is required to move out of lanes that suddenly turn into "vehicles must turn left" lanes.
Then of course no self respecting WA driver wants to be seen in the slow lane...... so they head straight for the RH (fast) lane as soon as they enter the freeway. I followed a turkey recently down the much maligned Indian Ocean Dr. pulling a biggish van with a 200series and he kept dropping his speed to the mid 60s every time there was double line then speeding up on clear parts to around 95kph. The idiot in a camper behind him couldn't/ wouldn't go past until I exceeded the limit (Oh dear) to get past both. Then of course he found the necessary oomph to get past me as well.
There ain't no figuring what goes through their tiny minds but they aren't thinking about others or their driving that's for sure.
