I don't think so as the holding bolts appear to be too small in dia, but I will stand corrected.

    Richard,

I tend to agree with Defenderzook.

When I first saw this bracket it appears not to have any purpose.

I wonder also if the factory drop the engine in from the top. My guess is that the engine with transmission is fitted from below the D3. Just a guess. So then what would the bracket be used for ?

Richard, you could ask on http://www.disco3.co.uk/forum/. There are a few guys who know a lot about the D3.

    Chris.

Just one question...are we looking from radiator in foreground to back of engine at back?

Also, does the D3 have an massive engine cover on it and this is its mounting point?

I reckon that two questions...so take your pick

    Cheers,
    Lyndon.

It's the bracket put on to inspire much comment as to what it's for....you can remove it with a left handed screw driver....

    Question 1. Yes

Question 2. Yes it has a big plastic cover and no it's not a mounting point for it. It uses 4 plastic posts plus the oil filler hole.

This bracket is new to me. I have never looked under that big plastic cover. I just assumed there was an engine in there somewhere. Maybe I should have a look some time.

I've checked the two smaller plastic covers. One over the standard battery and one over where I put the AUX Battery.

Never needed to look any furter
