With JLR heading down the same path as the other EU members with security and programing locked up, and going so far as to put the service books online , locking out any independent mechanics from it, to force owners to use only JLR dealers for servicing and repairs.

Keys coded to car, see dealer.
Service due notification off dash display, see dealer.
What's due in this service, its in a JLR server locked to others, so must see dealer!

Easier said than done. You have to have deep pockets. Or a fully equipped garage. Not to mention the appropriate knowledge. This is just to change a drive belt. In one of the LRM magazines, it says you should remove the body off the chassis to do the full belt change. Do that on your driveway.
