I'm with Greylandy. Even though my used fender is a new purchase I am happy for the girl to talk it on a stroll, if she lovs it as much as you think of the benifits. Less hassle when it comes to spending all those dollars on it I reckon.

Stevo a perfect example of this is that Kira (my partner) has come on a few 4x4 outings with Gold Coast Landrover Owners Club and although she doesn't enjoy it as much as I do she has a great time and realises the importance of offroad accessories and bought me a pair of rock sliders for Christmas!!!

the only thing better than enjoying your new toy is enjoying your new to with your family!

My other half drives the defender. She even drives it off road 8O
She loves the attention and has even learned the landy wave. Whenever we pass one I get the did they wave?

my rangie has only been home a couple of days and the missus has already had a drive up the road,and checked out the spacious rear cargo area(plenty of room for groceries was the comment! 8O )
we both drive MY work ute(tojo twincab 4x4)and on our last trip to fraser co-erced her into driving up the beach (much to her delight!)and no doubt she will have more than the occasional drive of the rangie,better to enjoy it together than making it like another person she has to contend with for your attention

My wife drives the Freeo but doesn't really know how big it is, so I usually drive when parking or the like is involved (last time she parked, it was right on the line markings ...).

Now the Rangie she has already declared is hers. Something about the sound of the V8 and the big "Don't screw with me" bullbar

Kira likes Driving the Rangie - she reckons it's got that ' Don't F*$k with me' feel about it

By now I'm just repaeating so many others.... but you can't be serious...

It IS only a car... hopefully it is insured. Landies are pretty tough.... she won't damage that much...

You never know - she might grow to love the landy like you do...... you could end up as a 2 landy family


My missus doesn't drive mine often.... she prefers her little buzz box.... but she CAN drive it... and is welcome to anytime...

She has learned to drive it off road... not cause she wants to take it from me... but so that one day... when I stuff up in the bush.... she knows how to get us out :!:


You sound like you need a priority transplant mate... the missus should come before the car...... if not... it probably time to trade in the missus 8O 8O 8O

Mine refuses to drive mine, reckons its a pile of crap, too big, too rough, too high, cant understand why I didnt buy a car like 4WD.

My Wife likes travelling in our 4x4 but hates driving it. She drives it onroad but only when she absolutely has too. Like when she needs the space to transport something if it is too big for her Corolla.

I don't mind my Wife taking it but I would prefer she didn't. Mainly because if I need to go out while she is gone I don't like her Corolla
Plus having a 4x4 isn't just about driving it. It sucks when you want to rip out all the suspension this weekend but she needs it to go shopping or something equally unnecessary

As for anyone else driving it I don't like that at all. My Dad drove it once and I thought we were going to die. That was in the city!!
I lent it to my brother for a month when his car was off the road and I was away with work. I didn't have to see it go or come back though so it was like it never happened :?
A let a friend drive it off road once with me in the passenger seat so he could get a feel for 4x4ing. Surprisingly enough after the initial "are you insane??" thought he did extremely well. He was very open to my directions and did exactly what he was told. It was eventually the calmest I had been with someone else driving it. I guess it was because I was still a little in control and he was a very good student.

Let her drive it. Just don't let her make a habit of it
