Then I emailed them advising what I think they should do.
So will that be medically possible?
I do not have a large amount of content on photo bucket, but most of it I do not have the original. So I will have to see if I can down load it.

That is what is so despicable about their actions. Sure, they were a hosting service, but they also purported to be a back up service. I'm lucky I chose not to trust them, or Picturelife, entirely for my back ups. I have sufficient HDD storage for my pics, but wanted a secondary, off line backup. HDDs fail. Now, Flickr ( Yahoo are hopefully big enough to maintain that service ) and iCloud ( Apple are definitely big enough ) take care of my off-site storage.

I imagine PB will sink like a stone for having done this. The opprobrium directed towards them online would seem to seal their fate. In fact, I won't be surprised if there is a class action against what remains of them, as the photos they host are the intellectual property of YOU, the people who uploaded them. It will get ugly.

I'm interested to hear from our high end picture takers on where they choose to store their pix. Mark?

Since flash drives are so cheap, I just mainly use those. I also have a 1 TB ext drive.

I just memorise mine then burn them......

Oh, no... I use drives with back ups.... and apple time machine.

It's definitely a first world problem, but I have put a lot of work into uploading and hosting images for various posts. I think that is the sad part.

It would be worth it to do it cheaply, like AULRO fees, they are easily manageable and easily justifiable, but $500/year.

I have Vimeo pro and it's half that and you get a Chrystal clean canvas that you feel OK to let clients go to. No ads, and the ability to host and stream.

    It's Pro... Bro!

Photobucket on the other hand looks like a sleazy backstreet with strip joins and burger bars!

Just come across this on another forum regarding getting around the Photobucket issue:

    PHOTOBUCKET HAS A HACK!!!
Just add ~original to the end of the link and it works! (before the [/img])

Not sure if this will help anyone, but apparently it works, so it might save some time for someone.....
