if you stretch a tarp across between the wires and down to the guards, from the front of the bonnet to the roof, the shape of this arrangement improves the aerodynamics of the landy, thus improving the fuel economy on a highway run. it's also a good idea to have the tarp purpose built with a clear section in it, but this is only required if you want to see where you are going.
on dry lake runs, with gearbox modifications, TD5's using this tarp setup have been known to crack the 200mph mark. this is documented in the french performance magazine "comment faire des morceaux de la merde aller vraiment bien" where they specialise in enhancing performance of average cars.

kinder like a bonnet top tent ..............an easily errectable tent in 60 secs unless of course you are doing high speed on the freeway then you have to accomidate for drag 8O
