BARN FIND....NOT QUITE BUT A SUPER ORIGINAL SERIES 3 (76')!!

Well.....I have just located a Series 3 in a condition which can almost be desribed as ALMOST MINT!!
NO dents, interior as NEW, 27,000 kms light surface rust on chassis. Oil leak on the rear diff pinion seal.
This car looks as if it time-warped from the 70's (including the sound system!).
The big question is WHAT IS IT WORTH???
Anyone looking for such a vehicle???
This car should not end up in the hands of a fool who would modify.
If you are seriously interested in this vehicle, please PM me.

Sounds like it should be in a museum.
Maybe The Birdwood mill In SA might be interested.
Perhaps if we could get it at a good price and get every member to donate $2 we could donate it to the Mill as an AULRO exhibit.
    3500 odd members at $2 a piece $7k.

    Umm, assume 35 regular forumites.

    $7,000 / 35 = $200 each!

It all depends on what they would want for it and how many members would be willing to part with a couple of dollars and be part of History. Even if we only got 1000 of the 3500 odd members to commit say $7 there should be enough to buy and transport it. It would be a shame to see it wasted.
Would also look good sitting in a large dealership showroom. Best place would be a museum though. What a great talking point when you take the kids to the car museum and can say I own part of that display.

I can't believe that no-one here in Perth is interested!
People would rather have an old banged up IIA SWB (with soft top of course) rather than a concourse III!!!
I have to resist the urge to buy it myself!

Is it a shortie or LWB?

I'd love it but just can't afford it or store it.

Had a life changing experience in an S3 SWB on the weekend. Drove one down a drainage ditch and up the other side. I would have bet a carton that it was not possible but the owner told me as I stared at the wall of dirt in front of me "Go on, just climb out" And it did.

Incidentally this guy disgraced himself and bought a Prado to replace his S1 Disco and t the wedding he copped it up and down from our camping gang. Next morning he came round in his shorty to redeem himself and he damn near did.

I reckon it's a good idea for us all to chip in and buy it. I'd like it for myself, but can't justify the cost at the moment and have nowhere to put it!.

I don't mind if its $5 or $50 a head. Let's try and get a price and then see whose interested in chipping in.

So the vehicle is for sale then or are you planning on coaxing the owner into selling it?

As mentioned above SWB or LWB?

    Got any photos of her?
    Cheers

The price all depends on whether or not the people who own it actually know what they have. If the dont a couple a grand or two would secure it, if the do at least double that i would assume. Matt
