Some people don't deserve cars. When it blew up he would have complained that Mazda's are no good no doubt.

Yep there are some good ones around.

I knew an old farmer who used to light a small fire under his motor before he started it because the manual said to warm the engine before driving it ( that was many many years ago) I knew the farmer but never saw the vehicle it was back in the early 50's i think

    Hi all,
There used to be a saying around the DoD that the department only bought the finest quality vehicles.
After all, they never needed the fluids checked, could go super fast in low gears, clutching was optional in manuals and you didn't need to come to a complete halt to engage reverse in autos and they had beefed up suspension so that you never had to slow down for speed humps, gutters or driveways.

Always wondered where they bought them from

    Regards
    Ralph

Me thinks one of those sub-human types at the RTA has done you a great mis service. :?

If you had an open licence (and were tested in England) you should've been given an open licence here. 8O

(as in Traffic Reg's & Licencing legislation).

I'd get it checked out if I were you.

Go back and get them to change to to a full licence as if you were on a full licence in England you get a full licence here. My wife just got here Aust. licence a couple of months ago and she just got it swapped from her Swiss licence. No questions asked!

it makes no differnece because i have only held my full licence for a few months...............not that that matters as i clearly states on there website that if you have not helda licence for over three years you will be put on p plates and it doesn't matter what p's you are on you are still forbidden to drive a v8

trust me i have spoken to them at great length..........mainly because i was also told i was restricted to an automatic.............and a women told me that i had to take a manual test to upgrade my licence if thats what i want to drive...........

this made me really angry as i passed my test in a manual same as every other english person.....but after many rows and talkig to other people in the rta i found out that i can drive a manual as i didn't take my test here....i told a guy at the rta over email that because he was giving me different stories to the people at the rta and the women tha i rang also gave me a different story does nothing but highlight incompetance with in there organisation................and they need to collabarate a bit more and train them a bit better......

i have to say though talking to my boyfriend the other day and we were discussing the amount of crashes there are here and there are alot compared to england which i know england is smaller but i would say we have far more dangerous roads..............

my theory is with the youngsters is as silly as it sounds i feel your speeds here when you learn to drive are to slow!!! and i know you will all argue with that for safety,,and i to agree but i feel alot of young kids learn to drive at these slow speeds....pass there test go out in the car get over confident and go fast but because they never driven a fast enough to feel the difference in handeling they rap them around lamp posts.......

i learnt to drive at 70mph on our dual carrage ways whats that here 110kmp and here on my licence i can't exceed 90kmp which to me feels like walking pace but i have no worrys about not being able to handle my car...............i don't know thats just my theory
