Thread: Are some people really this unaware about cars?

i have to say though talking to my boyfriend the other day and we were discussing the amount of crashes there are here and there are alot compared to england which i know england is smaller but i would say we have far more dangerous roads..............

my theory is with the youngsters is as silly as it sounds i feel your speeds here when you learn to drive are to slow!!! and i know you will all argue with that for safety,,and i to agree but i feel alot of young kids learn to drive at these slow speeds....pass there test go out in the car get over confident and go fast but because they never driven a fast enough to feel the difference in handeling they rap them around lamp posts.......

i learnt to drive at 70mph on our dual carrage ways whats that here 110kmp and here on my licence i can't exceed 90kmp which to me feels like walking pace but i have no worrys about not being able to handle my car...............i don't know thats just my theory

I see the problem,

Maybe you should not have told them when you got your licence, but that is now water under the bridge.

Never tell people like that too much, it generally comes around and bites you on the bum

Shout yourself a Lotus Exige. It's not on the prohibited vehicle register, and will get you to 60mph in 4.9 seconds or 100mph in 13 seconds Life doesn't have to be dull

Should of moved to Queensland, we don't have any of those anal-retentive rules that NSW does

Anyway, back to the topic at hand. That sort of thing sounds like my old man, had his first 4WD (MQ Patrol Diesel) had it for 7 years and didn't do an oil change 8O

In his defence, it started every day and that was good enough for him. Kept the oil up, water was always good and that's how my old man maintains his cars.

it doesn't matter even if a car is not on the list you cannot drive it if it is an eight cylinder...........had engine modifications or is high performance six cylinder...........the only thing is all these things only apply to petrol's

but convinceing my boyfriend to buy me a D3 tdv6 well.......it's not working hekeeps laughing at me........

only because he know's that if i had one for them i would leave him for dead in the v8 disco we got thats the funiest thing about it....

and as for telling them about how long have had my licence, i had no choice as the date of issue is on your english licence.........if i had known all this was going to come about of changing my licence.....
i wouldn't of done it i would of drivin on my english one and played dumb if i got stopped............but they have my details on computer now so if i use my english licence and i get caught and ceck up i will lose my licence altogether not worth it really

(can't apply for exemption, you can't apply for an exemption on the grounds that the prohibited car is the only car in the family)
exceptional reason only they get granted for.

That's why I suggested the exige. It's a naturally aspirated 4 cylinder 2.0 litre from toyota.

600MLs.
The top of my transfer case / gearbox holds more than that.
