    made of gold

i'm currently searching for two additional standard steel disco rims for my fender, the average second hand price in brizzy seems to be around the $110 mark, i was expecting a little cheaper so i thought i would ring land rover to see what they were worth new

    holy b jesus

    $1200 each

i have not rang any of the other dealers, the parts guy did apologise for keeping me on the phone for so long as he triple checked the computer when he seen the price, there was only one steel rim listed for disco

$1200 bloody big one each, phew

would be cheaper to buy allloys

I assume you have a 110 - I believe that the standard Disco wheels are not strong enough for a 110 - OK on the 90, but not the 110.

I have to agree, that price is ridiculous, but so are a lot of other parts prices, and not just Landrover.

When I bought the Defender the dealer sold me 3 disco steel rims for $100 ea (new) which I now have on the camper trailer, plus a Defender rim with a good tyre on it for $80. They literally had a shed full of them out the back which had been replaced by alloys on new Discos.

This was 4 years ago so I suppose they are becoming harder to get now.

    hi again

i have said this to a couple of other people now but disco parts in the uk are really cheap as no one wants a disco in the uk for they are terrible for rotting out in the uk weather...........you would pick up steels on ebay really cheap for disco

and even with the postage would still be cheaper than buying new

although people usually sell them in sets of four............

but go on www.ebay.co.uk and look.........it maybe worth it you never no

    Weeds,
There is currently a set of 5 used steel disco rims on ebay.com.au starting at $700. Cheaper than buying 1 newby.(If they fit)
Ive got the standard alloy rims on my defender. I was recently after a second spare rim and was quoted around $600. I always thought steel rims were cheaper than alloy....
    anyway
In the end I ended up buying a rim from the uk ebay and saved about $250 inc postage which basically pays for the rims tyre
    Best of luck
