Born in North Dakota. Naturalised as mum Australian.
Have AU & US dual citizenship, however I let my passport lapse as I have no desire to ever reside there.

Born here, Irish on mums side, scots /indigenous on Dads. Great grand-father landed on Gallipoli with the 9th Battalion , then after the Battalion was split in Egypt, served with grand-father in the 49th Battalion in France, WW1. Father served in 2/14th Battalion in New Guinea, Balikpapan WW2.His brother was a tail gunner in Lancasters in an Australian squadron , WW2, Uncle KIA Korea, 4 cousins served in the infantry, Malaya, Confrontation, & Vietnam. I served NAVY, Vietnam, 1970/71. One passport, proud to be Australian, but possibly prouder to have blood linked to new found discovery that indigenous people have been living in this land for 65,000 years. Think that makes me an Aussie. But no more an Aussie than the newest refugee,
I’m pretty sure the dinosaurs died out when they stopped gathering food and started having meetings to discuss gathering food

A bookshop is one of the only pieces of evidence we have that people are still thinking

I was born in Somerset in the UK. My parents emigrated in 79. I have held two passports but only as it was convinent for travel. Although I'm proud of my British heritage, I'm a proud Australian and wouldn't want to live anywhere else.
I have lived in the UK since. It was OK, but I never wanted to stay permanently. I'd married a POM. When we devorced I moved back with my two kids and they are Australian citizens too.
Both my kids are tax paying Australians and my son (my hero) is into his 10th year in the Army. He went to Afgahistan and it was the most stressful time in my life. My Aussie step daughter did 7 years in the RAAF. And went to Afghan twice.

Im in my 18th year of Military Service and am very proud to have served overseas under the ANF. The ANF is the flag I'm prepared to die under so quite frankly, having duel citizenship means stuff all. Australia is my country and I'm extremely lucky it is. But just because I'm military doesn't make me anymore Aussie than someone who isn't.

To be fair, the thread title asks 'who's a dual citizen?', so replies to this thread will be skewed towards people who qualify.

Do I need to remind everyone that no political discussion what so ever is allowed in the general forum - that includes whether you are entitled to be a politician or not.

If you want to discuss such things there is a place for it - Current Affairs.

Born NZ, came to Oz late 70's - Naturalised mid 80's. Dual Aus/NZ, only issue is who to barrack for in World Cup Rugby and other sporting events - but at least I've got a better chance of backing the winners!

My mother in law was born in the UK so my wife is entitled to claim citizenship but we can't find a birth certificate for my MIL's father, so it's stalled.

Born here (Bendigo). Parents both from Germany. Came out separately post war and met here in the sixties. Both became official Aussies as quickly as they could and always loved this place. The final wife is several generations Aussie from originally UK stock on both sides. Ex-missus was born local from a mix of Dutch and convict stock. No dual citizenship here... I've never looked into whether could or not.

Might want to check that. If a country allows dual then tri is usually also possible.
