I'm searching for the same information. ERIC insurance provided me with names of local retailers who sell their insurance (i.e. Mornington Mitsubishi), however those retailers won't sell insurance for other car brands. So I need to call Eric again and ask them who sells the Land Rover insurance product.
My initial impression is that the RedBook policy seems a little bit more appealing/friendly...and I'm learning that way ATM. Also, fyi, I spoke to a local LR service person and he said ERIC have always paid out no questions asked. So I have complete confidence in these 3rd party policies.
I had contacted Eric insurance and they arranged a call from holden dealer who can provide the policy for my Discovery.
The Eric policy can be purchased for 5 years which as per them is similar to manufacture warranty. However the Redbook offers similar policy only for 3 years. Also Eric quote is less than Redbook/year cost. I also got feedback that Eric policy is good and I am more inclined with Eric especially considering that they offer the policy for 5 years.
After scanning through both the PDS I believe both have similar conditions. Please correct me if I am wrong.
I believe as per the below condition we will be asked to pay some money incase of a claim as any replacement of components in the vehicle may be considered that it is in a better condition than before...
"You may be asked to contribute toward the repair costs if the repairs being performed will restore the Vehicle to a better condition than that immediately prior to the Defect, Failure or Fault occurring. When settling a claim We have the right to take Normal Wear & Tear into consideration."
