Free Drivers licence as a incentive
My eldest son comes off his green Ps shortly, Vic roads sent him a licence renewal and as a reward for no driving offences during his probationary period, his new full licence renewal is free for 3 years. He don't even have to get another phone taken, he just needs to ring Vic roads and they will renew it and post it out.

That's a good idea isn't it, using the carrot instead of the stick for a change. Re the photo, here in SA anyway, you only have to have a new photo once every 10yrs.

Crikey, I had to read that twice. The gummit giving something for free.
Bet they don't do it in NSW. Good on your son for achieving this!!!

Here, it used to be a 10% discount if you had all your points at renewal time.
It really ****ed my boss off. I got the 10% even though I owned a HSV Calais V8 and he, with his V6 Executive station wagon, was always down in points.

Nsw gives you a 50% discount. If you haven't had an offence on your last license (i think thats how it works).
My 10yr license cost $165, which i thought was pretty good!

Sounds like a good incentive for young drivers and even older ones who should know better. Saying that though it's hard to avoid getting speeding tickets here in WA, and I'm a serial offender apparently with 4 minor offences in 45 years....... I'm thoroughly ashamed of myself.
My license is now free due to age but I would rather still be young enough to pay.
