At least Vic is connected to Tassie and NSW for power, peak and base, S.A is connected to Victoria, oops, someone has a problem.

As a matter of interest, what is the energy loss for long distance transmission? I believe it is at least 25% for battery and pumped hydro?

The market has been distorted by govt subsidies, including RET. I for one wont invest in a sector so exposed to govt intervention, have you?
By all means get a Defender. If you get a good one, you'll be happy. If you get a bad one, you'll become a philosopher.

I think I read somewhere that Victoria has called tenders for a battery bank similar to the 100 MW one that SA has approved to be charged by a wind plant.
Hazelwood was worn out. That's why the government sold it to a private company, which decided it wasn't worth fixing. That's the results of privatization.
