    Honda EU20i

Went and bought 2 Honda EU20i's seeing as they were on special for the forecast blackouts and brownouts that will be coming.

What I would like to know is what household items I can run off 1 or both(in parallel) during said blackouts/brownouts.

Am thinking fridge, tele(can only use Foxtel where I am) and maybe a light or 2. Have gas cooktop and bbq for cooking so that's no probs.

These will also come in handy for when I move down to Tassie in couple of years time.

All helpful hints greatly received and appreciated.

    cheers

One way would be to hook up the appliances one by one by importance until the unit trips out.
I see there are specific cables to run the 2 Honda's in parallel. - I've just learnt something

Also if you google the subject there will be plenty that give appliance consumptions.

One should run your fridge and telly fine with a few lights if they are low wattage. 2 will run the whole house pretty much as long as you don't use the toaster and a kettle at the same time. Running 2 in parallel requires a common output which is designed to be hooked into your switchboard - this is not a DIY job and would require a transfer switch of some description installing or hardwired into you switchboard by a qualified Electrican and inspected and signed off too.

You'd be better just splitting the loads between the 2 machines if you needed to run more appliances.
If you need to contact me please email homestarrunnerau@gmail.com - thanks - Gav.
