Won't that extra hour of sunlight in the evening bleach your curtains?

if its so good, why weren't you doing it last week before the govt officials decided to do it this week....I mean how does it suddenly come into play one day but not the previous.

I mean, how can you save daylight????
    Think of it this way:
If you want to make your blanket (sheet for you northerners) longer, you cut a length off the bottom and sew it to the top.
See, you have now made the blanket (sheet) longer by adding a piece to the top.

The same can be done with beach towels.....

    .... and daylight.

There's not a day of the year the sun wakes me up - I'm always up before it shows. The closest it comes is the last couple of weeks where you can just see the sky lightening as I get home from my morning walk.

Funny you should say. Tom and I were discussing this very topic, today.
What time are you waking up tomorrow?

wouldn't it just be easier to keep the clocks the same and get up an hour earlier and do all the stuff you would like to do while it is still cool in the morning.

As for those that say there is a difference between the north and the south. Not really. Daylight savings makes more sense the further you are away from the equator. None of Australia is that far from the equator. Have a look at Northern Europe, there it makes more sense.

We had a bloke at a place I worked at once and he was not the sharpest tool in the shop. He asked me how do they make daylight savings? I explained in detail that NASA has a reflector in space that beamed down extra daylight to the earth and at certain times of the year Australia rented some daylight time.
