Sorry to see that Vietnam Veterans have been crapped on again.
Over eight months ago the AFL was requested not to schedule a match on the Adelaide Oval on Saturday the 12th of May.
This request byThe Vietnam Veterans Federation SA Branch was before the AFL started to schedule 2018 matches and they acknowledged that fact.
Why would a veteran organisation make such a request?
May the 12th is the 50th anniversary of the start of the longest most bloody battles for the whole of Australian involvement in South Viet Nam.
The Vietnam Veterans Federation SA Branch holds a ceremony to honour the 25 Diggers who lost their lives during this operation.
By putting a match on on this day the AFL has simply thumbed it's nose at the sacrifices made by those brave Australians and the veterans that are trying to honour that service.
The Torrens Parade Ground, Adelaide's hallowed ground for veterans is used as a car park by the Adelaide City Council when matches are played at Adelaide oval.
Not only has the AFL programmed a match on the afternoon they were asked to work around it is a double header, both Adelaide teams meaning parking will be at a premium.
The AFL could have set their program respecting the wishes of the veterans.
Thanks Australian Football League, thanks to our two football clubs, Adelaide Crows and The Power, despite also being requested to aide our attempts, seem not to have bothered lobby on our behalf or perhaps just been ignored by the AFL as we have been.
Shame on you Australian Football League.

I am getting use to and sick of the treatment veterans get...
It seems that if we wore a uniform we are non citz, yet some minority group screams insult and the country moves for them...
Only avenue is to use the media and flog the crap out of it, maybe lucky and stuff there footy match up by causing a monetary loss...
AFL has become more of a corporation than a club...
