The other option would be to find a good secondhand bonnet.

Stonyford are very approachable and may have what you need. I may be going there today if the rain lets up to get some parts for our Case IH tractor.

    Hi,

    Have a look here:

    Body - Tractor Parts

Most likely the UK source of parts for Oz resellers. Good prices, dunno about freight.

Thank you, I had a look at the Sparex site.
They do have the parts I need, no doubt dear enough, but at least they are available if I can't source any elsewhere.
One part that is missing on mine is the metal work under the steering column, known as the lower instrument dash panel.
I see it is available from Sparex

    Cheers, Mick.

I'm currently overhauling a 1971 Ford 4100, it has occupied my 4 weeks annual leave in September as well as every day off since. I've been amazed at how easily available the parts are, Bareco seem to have almost everything as a reproduction, including body panels, but I've been told Bepco are easier to deal with. I enquired with Stoneyford for a few parts back in September, still waiting for them to 'get back to me straight away'. It would be worth asking a local tractor dealer if they know anyone who may have parts, my Ford NH bloke put me in touch with a bloke whose father used to have the dealership in Sale and still has a lot of stuff.

Mick, I went to Stonyford today and there are a few MF bonnets but they may not fit as the only tractors I could see in the yard that still have bonnets is a 165 & 185. I presume the nose cone may swap but I can't be sure. On eBay new bonnets are selling for around £400 so I'd expect they'd cost close to $1,000 in Aus.

POD, that's a shame to hear but I've never dealt with them over the phone as we aren't too far away. Do you remember the person you were talking to? Jason is the boss and he has a couple of workers as well. When I looked today, Fords are fairly scarce there compared to rows of burnt out John Deeres. I'll try & post some photos up later.

    Hi Mick,

On the link I posted before (Agriline) a bonnet only for your 135 is 195 quid. (PN 2510)as you probably know.

A brand new 165 bonnet including nosecone and the panel that holds the instrument panel is 220 quid (PN 2482), already painted MF red I assume.

Dunno if they are interchangeable, but the nosecone PN's are the same (4015).

I have a 165 with 1400 hrs on it, original tyres and a pretty shabby grill, faded paint etc, that's how I came across the site.

Love the old girl but I'm going to sell it soonish coz I don't need 2 tractors.

    cheers, DL

I think there may be a difference in the length of the bonnets as the 135 uses the Perkins 3 cylinder diesel & the 165 uses the Perkins 4 cylinder diesel IIRC. If that's the case, the bonnet would need to be a few inches longer.

He has a petrol motor apparently, but you're right, the length may be different.

I actually had both, the petrol and 3 cyl. diesel, but the diesel I sold a fortnight ago as I no longer needed it.
The bonnets are identical and will also interchange with the 148, but not the 165 as they are longer.

    Cheers and thanks, Mick.
