yeah , I'm kinda with you , Shanegtr , I think the jjj dj's at the time heavily influence airplay , but I don't listen to any other radio station other than aunty.

I feel the same has happened to Eurovision song contest.

I used to tune in to that too long ago on short wave radio before it was ever transmitted to Australia.

as usual anything good that the ABC produces is overtaken and destroyed, glad that triple j can hold its head above that.

    Australian Music......We love it!

Young pup ! Got a few more years behind me than that but still love to go out and see a band ply their trade , be it rock , punk rockabilly etc. I f you can't show appreciation to the performance it is not much better than something generated on a computer.

Funny how sometimes I think I’m the only person over 30 listening to the j’s. I’m very similar age to you - 1970 Vintage. Been listening to JJJ since Razor and Robins and then Maynard in the morning followed by Angela Curtains (pronounced Cur-tanes but Maynard called her Angular Curtains) 😊

For those stuck in a time warp, expand your horizons and listen to some new Indy music. I still love listening to Classical music, other things like Jazz, Frank Sinatra and all sorts of stuff but I give modern music a go too. Some of its crap, but there’s some gems in there. Do yourself a favour and stop being such a stick in the mud - you might be surprised.
