Slip line with fishing line.. etc and lasso it.
Hi Guys,
I know a genius .... who doesn't need to be namedthat dipped the petrol tank on the tractor too see if there was enough fuel in it to cut the grass..... and managed to drop the stick
I can see it down there with a torch floating happily. I'm not really keen on it breaking up and making a mess of the fuel system. Surely there is other poeple out there as stupid as ... er ... "this person" so have a smart way of retrieving the stick.
The simplest way I can think of it to just fill the tank ... It will sit there floating at the top for me to grab with two fingers .... So I looked at the specs. The damn tank hold 80litresI don't have enough $$$ to spare to fill it (not to mention filling it 20litres at a time from a drum is bloody hard work!).

disconnect the fuel line, drain the tank, fill with water, retrieve stick, drain water, flush (maybe a couple of times with the same 5 litres of juice), refill tank with the good fuel you have left.
Hi,
Length of copper 13mm pipe.
Length of whipper line cord.
Pass a loop of cord down the pipe and snare the stick.
Pull tight and retrieve said stick.
You may need a 90 degree elbow on the bottom of the pipe if the stick is going to be at an angle that jams coming out.
Cheers
The press button flexible grabbers used for making gardens in a big bottle would be your friend. Big nursery would have some, about 2 foot long.
There are so many ways of doing this, I'm surprised it needs posting. Good luck with it and let us all know the outcome.

Chop a hunk of fabric from your wife/partners stockings/pantyhose. Tie a strip of it to a much sturdier stick than that used by the clown who caused all this, then poke it in the tank and wrap it onto the floater. The little fibres will hook on to the stick and won't let go. Fish it out
