Now now! They are an excellent vehicle provided the VCU is changed but I'm biased towards the diesels for obvious reasons. Both diesels are so different to drive though.

BMW = smooth, refined & powerful but access when working on them is cramped. (Sounds like a Range Rover )

L-series = noisy, slow & not as powerful with easy access compared to the BMW model. (Sounds like a 300Tdi or Perkins tractor engine)

I've never driven a Freelander 2 but I have driven the Volvo 850 with the smaller 5cyl petrol engine of the same engine family and it is incredible. Would love to try a Volvo 850 T5R though
