yep the sway bars are coming off. and then i think the valving in the std shocks might be to stiff, oh well what the disco had the 90 will
also.

didnt have/need sway bars in the disco. might be all the differance.

Hi Phil, i have been thinking about taking the sway bars off my disco but heaps of people have told me not to, my mechanic being one of them, as it would handle like crap on the road. How much does taking them off affect on road driving? Matt

I'm not sure what brand will fit a Landy persee, but just get some swaybar disconnects. Jeep drivers use them all the time and most Wrangler drivers have them. Surely they could be sourced for the same application on a 90. They replace the drop bar (from chassis to swaybar end) - enabling you to get to your location with swaybar operating, and disconnect it temporarily once you go offroad by simply pulling a pin to disconnect it from the swaybar. Re-connect to go home once you're done for the day.

not sure if a 95 defender ever had sway bars fitted

mine is fitted with polyairs, i drive around town on 15psi to stop body roll, 25psi fully loaded with van attached and when off road i reduce to 2-3psi

some say polyairs will effected articulation as well, my setup seems ok.




I didn't check if my diff was resting on the bump stops, if it was not it would not have been too far away

weeds - I think it's only the 90 that comes with sway bars out here.

well you have my old springs and stiffer shocks than when that setup was in DW, and it NEVER had sway bars. youve seen me drive DW, well i went
faster on road.
honestly, take them off, after a week you wont notice the differance.

as for disconnects, i dont like the idea of the links hanging down while driving offroad.
