the point being dodged, as much as the activists hate hearing it, is that in reality, the indiginous weren't treated as a special case, it happened to all that were judged, rightly or wrongly, to be incapable of bringing up children the way they thought they should be.

One of the beliefs behind the removal of indigenous children from their parents was the belief the Aborigines were an inferior race which would inevitably become extinct, so half-caste semi-white children should be removed to save them. That belief wasn't behind the removal of white children from their parents because of neglect.

I am really surprised at the amount of "Waffle" in this thread coming from people that have little first hand experience and get the majority of their information from the net or newspapers.
Get some real experience and look at ALL the past events with an Unbiased outlook instead of jumping on any particular bandwagon "Half Cocked" because it looks like it is a popular or "trendy" cause, There are plenty of "Sheep" out there following other peoples quests already as this doesn't require Any real thought or effort on the Sheep's behalf.
If I wanted to talk to "Sheep" I would go out into the paddock and do so, I have NO interest or desire to talk to them on an internet forum.
No names mentioned But you know exactly who you are Guys.

Well said Mick, you're one of the few here who is not moving sideways or denying the truth.
Many Aboriginal families are still dealing with the ramifications of the stolen generations. Disrespecting this fact and the significant differences in the experiences of Aboriginal and non-Aboriginal people in this and many other contexts is activism of the worst kind.
need more white bashing in this thread
