It was a case of the whole thing if edited could have been presented in 30 mins doco. Looking at minutes of track sleepers and passing fences of houses etc didn't appeal to me. I don't know how the driver stays awake. A bit more voice narration explaining stuff, a bit more on the history and not just a few second flash of some writing , it could have been entertaining. It didn't really make me want to get on the phone or net and book a trip.

There seems to be some inner conflict in the land rover world. Find your inner peace, let go , free your mind. Become the train. Grasshoppers. This may help.

If three hours wasn't enough, on Sunday SBS will show the 17 hour version.

Would have been a bit better if it was narrated a bit more or had some quiet background music. I wish I had a big table and was doing a land rover jigsaw puzzle. Im certainly NOT watching the full 17+ hours of it. Would love to do the trip tho♡♡♡

    Cheers Rod

    Then perentie back....hmmmm???

Isn't the actual trip about 50 hours, so it's still only excerpts. Would make a great screen saver.

The highest ratings for any show on SBS in the last 12 months. Not sure what that means, but there will be more.

I remember some years ago reading that the highest rating program on Norwegian TV was a series about how to chop and stack firewood. I think I'd rather watch the view from a train or the Maleny cowcam.

Much better to get lost in the shadows of a flickering camp fire, at night in the bush.
