Bugger, not good at all.
Cars move a fair distance when involved in an accident like this, so I doubt either car is sitting close to where the impact occured.
I know the driver and passenger of the magna, looking at the footage they are still behind the give way sign. Can't speculate how this happened. Sadly 1 person died.

They live across the road from my mum, what i have heard is hearsay , that the elderly driver drives a bit like a hoon, speeds off etc, comes around corners fast etc, he has had a few accidents 3 we know of and always was "the other persons fault?"
At his age, maybe he should have handed his licence in long ago. Thinking in the back of my mind did he cause the loss of life? that he came out of that merging lane into the path of the other driver.
My mum is elderly, and this has impacted her heavily after hearing the news it was her neighbor.
Report on Vicpol site say's it was a head-on.
Man killed in South Gippsland Highway head on | Victoria Police News
Looking at the photo both cars are damaged on the drivers side front, so consistent with a partial head-on crash.
Plus the "Jaws of Life" have been used on the Falcon to assist with patient extrication.
Also, where the point of impact is and where the vehicles eventually end up, can differ a lot.
Cheers, Mick.

Agree. There is absolutely no way a casual observer can chart the course of a vehicular accident. Where the cars ended up is no indication, as the forces involved are immense. That is why police experts measure and mark all severe accidents, and always fatalaties. There is no other definitive way of determining what happened. Eye witnesses nearly always give conflicting and inaccurate accounts.
Speculation is pointless.
