I'm after some hole punched metal strips ala Meccano - Any Ideas?

    Hi all,

I'm after some strips of metal with regular holes punched along the length. Ideally about 10mm wide and 200-300mm long. Any ideas.

There are some Meccano part stores on Ebay but they are pretty expensive. The guys who install hifi in cars seem to have a line on something. Not sure where/who this comes from.

I want to model something similar to an umbrella (to scale).

This might be the wrong thread. I'll find out soon enough.

    Cheers

When you buy those aftermarket central locking kits they have a similar thing in them to help mount the locking actuators

We used to call it Hilti strap, (because we bought it from Hilti a very, very long time ago) but it's just builders strap or perforated hoop iron.

Any decent hardware store will stock it,

Car audio places possibly have it - used to be in installation kits.
