Ethics in medical research is different from. Everyday ethics. That said, it seem this vw research has ethics committee approval...(surprisingly)
Also there is a strong conflict of interest hehe, car company fund research looking at health effect of diesels exhaust...
Nobody from academia will even look at these results. Maybe media and lobby group will
P.s. Australia has the most arsehole animal research ethics code in the world. Check NHMRC for all those committees and codes..and application forms and guidelines....

In my opinion VW should be applauded, Don't the dickhead consumers realise VW were trying to help them out , by giving them better performance & economy that they would have otherwise achieved with the implementation of the over the top emissions regulations. If I had a VW with the special factory treatment no way i'd be handing it over to be made 'right' .!!
