The Wensleydale cheese factory where the cheese is made is in town. You can do a tour or eat in their cafe which has a menu that has their cheese in everything

They have some kind of naming right to the cheese but it can be made elsewhere by others

Am in the Lake District near Windermere. Suggested that a drive up and through Hardknott pass was worth it for the drive and the view. …….

Geez! How does the Rangy go on some of those hairpins? I took a FWD Mondeo through Hardknott in 1996 and had traction issues on some of the bends. It was dry, too.
