Fraser Island,or whatever it is called today.
Anyway,weather is fantastic,fishing no good,so far,whale watching is brilliant,as was the witnessing of a shark feeding frenzy just off the beach.The sharks were beaching themselves trying to catch baitfish that were jumping out of the water.Have never seen anything like that here before.
I was thinking today,how the place has changed,been coming here since 1969,I know I am showing my age,but it used to be a great place.
In those days we wouldn’t see a tourist vehicle for weeks,camp anywhere,in the days before we moved to the base camp at Coombo Lakes,which now has no private vehicle access.

Broke a clip on the front recovery point cover, but I carry spares. The Emu survived to get up and run away and we managed to wash off enough speed without jacknifing the van that he only lost some feathers on the road.
Now to try some gentle off-roading without bending another 2 wheels.

Hit a new personal high of 5000m above sea level when inspecting the primary ventilation fan for the underground mine.

We’re at Deep Creek National Park in SA just behind the Park Office near Stringybark Campground. We’re doing a couple of weeks volunteering as Campground Hosts.
The weather so far has been a lot less than good. [bigsad]
Our old Outback Sturt camper is keeping us dry and our el-cheapo Chinese diesel heater is keeping us warm. [bigsmile1][bigsmile1][bigsmile1]
