Now at Taupo, not much mud here. However, you wouldn’t believe how the lake water is crystal clear. I’ve never seen anything like it, it is simply mind-boggling, I’d like to snorkel in it.Quote:

just Wikied it, yes there are a number of geothermal vents around the lake and the lakes water level is artificially maintained by their Hydroelectricity plants.....or it floods.

If you're still in the Taupo area Ron, have a look at Huka Falls on the Waikato River (the outlet of Lake Taupo. If you're lucky you might see some insane kayakers shooting the falls.Quote:
