We’re at Stringybark campground in Deep Creek NP in SA a bit over halfway through a two week stint as Campground Hosts. Weather has been a bit variable ranging from cold to colder with rain on most days. We’ll be sorry when it comes to an end on Friday (20 Jul). Good fun cleaning dunnies, picking up rubbish (people are pigs), pulling weeds and talking to people.
    Cheers,

Wandering around NSW before going back to Canberra for Vietnam Veterans Day.

Port Macquarie today, Kempsey tomorrow.,then Armidale and so on to Lightning Ridge, from where I told the bride I will buy her a set of Black Opal earrings.

Is that big Western Star with the polar bear plates roaming around?

No, its driver is preparing for a Bedourie, Boulia, Alice, Oodnadatta, Marree, Birdsville pub crawl.
If you don't like trucks, stop buying stuff.

Thought so...we,both of us, are very disappointed not to be able to get to Alice this reunion.

Around 30 Km east of Dirranbandi,I just love it out here.

Except seems another drought has started,no real good rain since last October

Lots to do,but the best part is phone off, only put it on at night to see if anyone wants something, then off again.

Coonabarabran for a couple of days, seems to be a good season for farmers, crops growing, cattle sleek, sheep thriving.

Just chatting to two blokes in the pub,...helicopter operators, shooting pigs, 2,800 so far on one station.

Oh and lots of retired tractors, trucks, dozers, landrovers ,to drool about

It is a good season so far - but getting dry. Saw my next door neighbour yesterday towing a feeder behind his ute in the paddock...... "we'll all be rooned, said hanrahan!"
