Hospital provisions can't really be classed as food, since they are frozen and reheated by suppliers who won the contract based on lowest price, not quality. Service to the public is a low priority for hospital food. That's why most hospitals now have cafes, so the medical prisoners can get something edible. Soon we will be down to relatives having to bring in food to sustain the patients, as happens in some countries.
Last time I was in hospital I survived by ordering in pizzas.
