Interestingly, I passed a D1 on historic plates in Dunkeld tonight.
That means over 25 years old.
G'day Pop58
Our D1 300TDI was sold new as a "run-out" in March 99 with a Build Date (under the 2nd Battery) of 11/98 vin being JG(Oh Dear!) Transport have Stuffed Up, my vin plate reads xxxxJgMf 3wa566486 when it should be xxxxJg"H"a566 etc. So off to Caboolture Registry on Monday[tonguewink]
cheers
:confused::confused:
If it were a 'H' serial No., it'd make is a 90-91 model Disco.
.. 3WA566 .. make more sense as a 98 model D1.
If the 'H' is meant to be subbed for the M in your sequence, then it makes even less sense, as the M = 5 door discovery, whereas H = High Capacity Pick Up with/without crew cab
The only thing I can't seem to locate on mine is the build date .. only compliance date 4/99
V= 96-97, W=97-98, X=98-99(D2 model start year).
side note: my wreck D2 is an X model(5/99) and my project D2 is a Y model(11/99).
G'day pop58
My vin number is just forward of the brake booster on the drivers side guard on the flat panel,which is under the second (red top) battery,it took some finding by transport dept.when we had the rego transferred. We think it has had booth front guards replaced prior to our ownership.
cheers
