    Land Rover Veterans (Vehicles)

    Hi all,

Joined recently and couldn’t find a similar thread (maybe noob) but just curious to know.

Whom here among us has the “oldest” highest km Land Rover. A vehicle that has been through it all and can attest to Land Rovers claimed “up to 600,000kms”

What was done? What did it need to keep going?

    This should be fun 🤤

Approaching 250K on a 1997 Tdi300, and 310K on a 1999 Td5, so both of them are just barely run in! Pretty sure the two of them will see me out!

... unless someone thought it great to use the 110 as a taxi, 630,000km is incredible! Off the top of my head, the only car I've ever seen (in real life) that could do 600k+ was a Daihatsu Charade...

Well then, be prepared to be further amazed. Owners of coil sprung LRs of the 80s and 90s have both the expectation and experience of achieving lengthy mileages and it is not considered at all unusual.

Even a motor car travelling at average annual rates from the mid80s will have passed 500000km, it is 30+ years you know

There are a couple of Disco 1's in WA that are over the 1 million km mark (one is 1,250,000km at least). My own D1 is about 1 million km short of that total (under 240,000km), but my Disco 3 has 518,000kms on it.

It is now 32 years old, so that is only about 20,000km per year, which is about average for Australians. Engine has had no internal work, but has had a crankshaft seals, sump gasket, several thermostats. Steering box has been replaced, some work on the gearbox, front diff has had a four planet centre fitted, new rear springs, two sets of shocks, two clutches, two sets front pads, four sets rear brake shoes and new drums, one drive flange. New brake booster, rear prop shaft, two U-joints, steering U-joint.

Apart from that, service items - filters, bushes, seals, brake and clutch kits etc.

Sundry body bits replaced as well, including headlights and tail, parking and blinker lenses, pedal rubbers, new front seats, two windscreens and need another one.

Had a few accident repairs as well.

Yep, there was a Disco at Melrose a couple of years ago which I thought had either just under, or just over 1,000,000 Kms on it.
I can't remember the details,, maybe I'm wrong with that info, if so, someone else who attended could update either way.
