So, how come this is not in the recovery section?
I’m pretty sure the dinosaurs died out when they stopped gathering food and started having meetings to discuss gathering food

A bookshop is one of the only pieces of evidence we have that people are still thinking

After reading the last couple of pages in this thread it seems that the Consensus here is that a Snatch recovery and a winch recovery have the same degree of risk making them both as equally dangerous and the only difference between the two methods are the cost of the recovery equipment.

Your wording is the problem Trout.

    Not dangerous; Hazardous.

If all the right steps are taken, then the risk is low to medium.

Now put in place all the “right things” to be done.

    Rated attachment points
    Air Damping
    Properly maintained equipment
    Correctly educated people
**out of line of fire** (I never winch or snatch recover from the drivers seat sitting upright)
Exclusion zone for those not operating the vehicles

    And the likelihood becomes rare...

There is also this piece of equipment...

    Catches wayward recovery gear...

Love it ! If unable to get the vehicle free you can at least grab the bike and go !

There is nothing wrong with my "Wording" because if a procedure has been known to result in Death it is potentially Dangerous But there does seem to be some confusion as to your interpretation of that Risk matrix chart you have posted here because "Likelyhood" and "Risk" are two different things.
If you use the chart correctly you look at the likelihood even if you rate it "Rare" and the consequences can be Death So it Still shows that there is a "Medium" risk involved.
This is assuming that the correct gear is used, the people know exactly what to do and that all the equipment used is 100%, IF there is any variation in these parameters the risk can go from Medium to Very High in a heartbeat.

No, it starts Medium and drops to low if the “Work instruction” I quoted is followed.
By removing Line of Fire it immediately drops 2 spots to L4
