Take caution at slippery brisbane river boat ramps.

I’m pretty sure the dinosaurs died out when they stopped gathering food and started having meetings to discuss gathering food

A bookshop is one of the only pieces of evidence we have that people are still thinking

    Hi,
Looks like the concrete was too smooth.
A rough raked surface gives a better grip, even when covered with slimy weed.
    Cheers

Dead low tide. Road tyres, slippery ramp, bad combination. And it floated away, turning around. Not even a BMW driver would be silly enough to launch car first.

"The BMW floated off before swinging around and sinking to the muddy bottom.

Although I don't launch boats, It's good to have a D2 which brakes all four wheels if difflocked.

I wonder how a D3 or 4 would have fared . Probably the same as the BMW.

Interesting, that. I'm thinking the heavier weight of the D2 may give it a similar fate to the BMW with momentum at the lower end of the ramp, where the surface may be very slippery at dead low tide. No traction at all. A couple of mates have made up extensions to their boat trailers to keep their vehicles out of the danger zone.

    Hi,
In W.A. I saw a river bank launching ramp that was very precarious.
No vehicle could launch/recover down the muddy slope, but a solid old windlass mounted at the top allowed trailers to safely lowered and raised without drama.
Probably only suited for tinnies though.
    Cheers
