You may get some slow traffic at the roadworks on the Gateway, but once you get over the bridge, most of the traffic is travelling the other way, so southbound on the M1 shouldn't be too bad (barring accidents, of course!).
At least it's better than Pennant Hills Road, where the morning rush hour is from Midnight to Midday, and the afternoon one is from Midday to Midnight!

    Then it's a bun fight.

That's because the real workers have stopped for lunch then.

    Fixed.
The real workers are driving trucks.

    Cool

I've found the best time to use the M1 is between 9.30am and 1.30pm. Before that time you get the tradies, the office workers and the mad mums on the school run. Then it usually slacks off for a few hours ,before it starts again in the reverse order. However, all it takes is one accident.......The worst time to travel in country areas is always before and after school.

    food for thought.
I've had to come the other way a few times in the last couple of months and it hasn't been too bad leaving Alstonville at 5:15, 5:30 and 5:45 NSW time.
I stopped for coffee/brekky the last few times too and the traffic was still flowing right through to the Logan Mwy.
I don't recall it being too nasty going south.

Coming back in the arvo on the other hand.....

Don't forget about the reduction of the speed limits heading south because of the Commonwealth Games. It's 90 from Springwood and 80 closer to the coast.
