Make sure you get brass eyelets not brass plated. The brass plated ones will rust very quickly. (vox experienta)

Hey rmp,
for small stitching jobs you can get a "speedistitcher" from a saddlery shop. These work really well for thick materials like canvas or nylon webbing.

In the past I've used a regular sewing machine with a heavy needle to make bags etc from awning canvas. It did a great job, but was never the same afterwards. The tension thingy started playing up and the ex was very p!ssed off https://www.aulro.com/afvb/ .

Next time I'll learn a few stitches and do it by hand as mentioned above.

Is the tent canvas that thick? usually its more of a heavy cotton and the wifes sewing machine would do just fine.
