Thread: Stocking fish in dam

If you have Gambusia (Mosquito Fish) in your dam, they will nip away at the fins of any size fish until it can't fend for itself. Unfortunately, if you have them, there's not much you can do about it. Worth doing a "Barney Google" on them.

Evening,
4 years later and never a fish in sight, no ripples nothing. Then last week as I walked past the inlet I saw 3 movements from underneath some branches in the water a meter or so into the dam. Sus... certainly, took the flyrod ourt yesterday and landed a silver perch on the third cast and released it. Some obviously survived though they are still small at about 23cm and 4 years old...
So happy some survived!
