    Mustang to run in Supercars!

From previous comments on this forum, I've noticed that there are a HUGE number of Aussie Supercars fans on here,.....yeah right!
Anyway, for anyone that IS interested, Mustangs will be running, with support & involvement from Ford, who will work with both DJR Penske, and Tickford to develop the new car for the 2019 season..
    Fantastic for the sport,...IMHO.
I now wait for me & the Series to be flamed,....in the usual manner, by the usual supects!!
    All is good, Pickles.

    bring it on!

Wow--at last some real progress--long overdue and it would be even better to see some run as wildcards at Bathurst or Newcastle if they can do so. At least all the cars will not look the same. Maybe Simona can jump ship or even the Kelly gang to something that can actually WIN--they try so hard but wins elude them. Alan

I'd love to see all of those, but I reckon Camaro is a big chance.

One of the issues I see with the Camaro is that (from what I have led to beleive) the formula requires that the models are manufactured in RHD. I can not see GM going down that path for just the Aussie market. The Corvette also gets excluded as they need to be a 4 seater.
Happy to be wrong as I think the category needs to keeping growing and stay relevant (yeah yeah I've heard it before ) and unfortunately Mustangs racing Camaros is not really what the premier Australian motorsport class should be IMHO.

Fair comment re Camaro in RHD,...maybe they might make an exception because Camaros are being sold RHD via HSV conversions in Aus?...I wouldn't know, but Holden will probably be happy to run the Commodore anyway, because it's a good looking racecar, with good teams, getting good results with it, particularly Red Bull.
Camaros are said to be going to be manufactured in RHD in the U.S. at some time in the future, some say shortly, I say not for a few years. GM Detroit would have been involved with the HSV/Camaro project and there's no way GM would've let HSV go down this path if Camaro was coming to Aus RHD any time soon?

Yes, HSV are marketing them, well actually they are converting Camaros from LHD to RHD for sale in Holden Dealerships, but they are not as yet made RHD anywhere. The point I made was that as HSV have been dealing with GM Detroit on this issue, there would be no way Detroit would be going to manufacture Camaros in RHD if they have allowed HSV to start a RHD connversion program.
