Lovely Spring day in Blighty. [smilebigeye]
Lighten up Mate, Most of the "Old Farts" you see on the road have already paid their "Dues" via tax over the last 5-6 decades so they have as Much right (If not MORE) to be on the road as you and it is the Big trucks that Bugger up the road anyway.
They May be held in "Low Esteem" by you and your "Truckie" Mates but to everyone else they are Loved and respected grandparents, Fathers/mothers and brothers and siosters that are making the most of their "Twilight" years.
Grow a bit of "Tolerance" Mate Because at the end of the day you WILL be in their shoes[bigwhistle]
Precisely, by whom? A few drivers that are held back a bit while on the road apparently.Quote:
and reflecting the low esteem in which they were held.
Jezzuz! I really despair sometimes & wonder whether we all do live in this same great country.[bighmmm]
No-one is getting younger each day but older, so why can't people have a bit more tolerance, as that could be you one day, Bjorn.
Do you consider your own parents with the same such low esteem? Well on second thoughts, with an attitude like that, I'd say quite possibly.
Edit. Apologies old trout just about word for word eh? It must be my age, I hadn't read your post before I posted, just bob's.
Travelling at 90 saves a lot of fuel.
Thats the case even when your not towing Mick.
Sitting on 110 on the freeway, and 100 on just a main road you can see quite a difference. Go lower and its better again,, and if your not that flush with cash, every cent counts. In some ways it's kind of unfortunate that this is the case,, however, in the scheme of things, I thought that we all as travelers are out to actually SEE the country, not just blitz past everything to the end goal. Different when your a worker on holidays I guess, your on time constraints.
I continually get into trouble for pointing stuff out in paddocks etc by my travelling companions,, and the Mrs [bigwhistle],,,, "Don't you ever watch the road?" will crackle over the UHF.
Its a bit like listening without "hearing" really,, whats the point? Slow down and smell the roses, as the saying goes.
When there is traffic about I sit on the speed limit......makes sense
Than back off on the quieter roads....
I with chops, I get into trouble for looking more than watching the road.
