Rellies are in Broome right now and say the joint is jumping. They're heading out for quieter places.

Jezzuz! I really despair sometimes & wonder whether we all do live in this same great country.

No-one is getting younger each day but older, so why can't people have a bit more tolerance, as that could be you one day, Bjorn.

Do you consider your own parents with the same such low esteem? Well on second thoughts, with an attitude like that, I'd say quite possibly.

Edit. Apologies old trout just about word for word eh? It must be my age, I hadn't read your post before I posted, just bob's.

For your information I am 78 and still endeavour to maintain the speed limit where safe. Think on the fact that our highways were not built for tourists to creep along whilst gazing at rocks and trees but as channels for commerce. Many road users are on time tables. Buses, truckers who face financial penalties for being late into depot, persons heading for medical appointments, court appearances, and so on. Courier drivers who are paid per delivery and could make a bit more to feed their families if not delayed, and sales reps missing a call that could have made them commission. So speed up and don't be a PIA on the road.

Who do you think has paid the "Lions share" over the years for the construction/maintenance of our road system?
It most certainly isn't the courier driver or the truckie, It is overwhelmingly the average Joe that has coughed up the .majority of the Money for our roads via taxes and registration fees.
So next time you get frustrated at a grey haired nomads just consider that you should thank them instead of hating them becauses of them you have a place of buisness (The road) to work in.

Not quite correct, company light commercial vehicles often don’t do more K’s than average private mileage, but pay quite a lot more for rego, and higher tolls.
Although tolls probably don’t go to road repairs.

Electric vehicles are the ones that do not pay their fair share as they pay no fuel excise.

I think the point was that there are a lot more private owners - and the grey haired ones have been paying up a lot longer.
