Its rare I’ve ever had funds transferred actually clear on the same day....yes of same banks.

If any money had actually appeared in my account from this bloke I would have felt really bad about not waiting longer. And refunded it immediately. But from my experiences of gumnutters he was just trying it on and would have rung again with a sob story or other in an effort to get the price down. Still no money in the account so it shows he was a liar and I was right to take the next bloke who rang.
And I was truly astonished at how quick it came into my account.
First in best dressed at all times now as I've been stuffed around too many times with "buyers" who turn out to be anything but genuine. I had one bloke after a 110 300Tdi I was flogging who put a small deposit on it.
I turned down a better offer from someone else for this person who was supposedly a copper and it turned out he'd bought another vehicle and rang me with some crap story or other as to why he couldn't complete the sale. I returned his deposit less the cost of re-advertising.
I've been known to destroy stuff rather than give it away to bastards who annoy me....
If others disagree so be it, try dealing with some of the weirdos out there...... and a lot of LR owners fit that description perfectly

It depends on the bank and time payment is made, if same bank then usually instant. Other banks can take a few Business days, week ends are not included, some people we deal with don't have internet banking and do old school by going into my banks branches and make a payment in person.
The way to get a fast payment into an account is to deposit cash at a branch of the same bank as the seller. I put a rusty old HT wagon up on Gumtree for a mate of mine a few years ago, had the usual dimwit ring up who wanted free delivery and COD to 70km away. The next guy that rang was genuine, I told him to put a decent deposit over the counter, then ring me so I could check it had arrived in my account. No problems, took down the ad straight away and he turned up a week later from 200km away to pick it up. You just have to stay firm and insist on no cash, no hold.
When I sold my D2 a couple years back, the guy payed for it on his phone, in my driveway , instantly.
He showed me the icon transferring the funds as it was happening.
He lived 300km away.
There is no excuse these days for money not to be sent real time. Every bank can do it for every customer.
Well if i got a message at 0630 to say ok, and here are my bank details, then i couldn't do anything about it until 1700. And as i don't do internet banking, i would also have to try get to a bank.
Communication is the key. I would have been ****ed too.
There was a bloke on the box not long ago saying that banks were moving to virtually instant transfers and they wanted to dispel the myth that they held onto funds, especially over the weekend to play with and make a bit more for themselves....... yeah right mate, we believe everything the banks say.
Yes there are some clowns out there and I remember one when I was selling the 3rd row of seats from the Puma..... $100 to just get rid of them, in top condition.
Bloke from the "east" wanted me to send them over at my expence and he would "evaluate them" to see if they were worth a 100 bucks!!! Yeah mate, they're in the post.
I took one vehicle off gumnutters as the turkeys really came out of the woodwork but it was a Prado so I should have expected it.......

I used facebook once to sell a 5inch Lowrance colour sounder with GPSand aus wide navionics SD card marine maps for $300. I had enquiries within a few minutes. Some wanted to know the best price, some wanted me to post for free. Some tried low balls. I sold it within 20 mins after 10 enquiries. The guy that bought it came from 200 kms awy. Picked it up and said he was happy with the price as the mapping Navionics was worth $300 alone. After I put "sold' on listing still had enquiries asking if the other buyer didn't want it sell it to them, this went one and on.
There are tight wad spankers everywhere.
Some don't know a realistic bargain when they see it, they still want cheaper.![]()
There's no sale until the money appears in the account. First to pay up gets the goods, I reckon.
