Lots of broken dual cabs up here..... from chassis cracks to springs and shocks. I look at so many and the way they load it’s not surprising really. They always seem to pick all the weight way behind the axle, jerrycans, fridges and the like because it’s ‘convenient to get to’. Nothing in the manual apparently to say that you keep the heavy stuff forward.
You don’t need to be an engineer to work out really do you?
D4 SDV6, a blank canvas
When i did the simpson i put most of the water and the jerrycans at the front of the tub. Worked well because i rarely needed to access it. There was also a fair bit of food weight placed rearward of that, but oh well. I actually have softened rear springs but it did it beautifully.
Yeah but at the least to toyo bashing has died down.
It happens to all makes, just speak to the people who do the recoveries - its user error that is largely to blame. Often those towing or overloaded.
I did the Simpson in mid June where I saw a few examples of user error. A good example was a young hoon in GU Patrol who'd lost his clutch cable and decided not worry about that... he was in a group who drove everywhere but on the track. I heard they ended up towing him out after he lost his gearbox.
