Land Rover Series I Transport query-Darwin to Melbourne
Morning,
I bought an old Land Rover Series I over Christmas through Ebay in Darwin. It runs, driveable, brakes are ok(not great) but need doing. I had it booked in through a Car Transport Company. The last owner took it to their depot for me on a Car Trailer, drove it off, then the Manager told his the brakes weren't in good enough condition for them to transport it. That was going to cost me about $1000, which is about what I budgeted for. The problem is now, the only Car Transport place that will take it want $3500 to get it to Melbourne, which I cant justify as that is what I paid for the vehicle. Does anyone have any other suggestions as to how I can get it from Darwin to Melbourne for a justifiable amount of $? The last owner has offered to try to re-sell it for me if I cant find a way.
Thanks heaps
Jamie

I would suggest getting a quote from "Door to Door Car Carrying".
or
Borrow a car trailer.

Fly up, drive it back on permits.
Don’t think car carrier will been keen on loading and unloading without functioning brakes.
Maybe general freight, forklift on and forklift off.....this would be expensive as well
