Wow what a great race, the Championship is wide open this year. Ford won the day thanks to 888 racing and most of the main holden teams look strong for the rest of the year. 888 Racing will hope some of the other Ford teams get there act together, even SBR struggled.

Whats your thought Ace ?

It certainly was a top race. Its not very often Mr Skaife leaves the first round without a single point.

There is no doubt the next craig lowndes will be Jamie Whincup, i find it rather amusing that Garry Rogers gave him the flick a year or two back because he couldnt get results. Its amazing what a good driver can do when he is given a good car.

I was suprised Ingall didnt do a bit better, but given most of the people who beat him in the first race didnt finish the second race he didnt do to badly championship wise. The incident in the first corner bent his front RHS suspension which didnt help, he did do well to finish in 9th. But in the second race he was suffering from the same brake problems that both he and Ambrose and the two HRT cars were suffering from at the end of last season.

I still reckon Ingall is in with a chance, he reckons its an omen cause he was 6th in the championship at the end of clipsal last year as well.

It will be good to watch lowndes climb the table during the year, like he did last year. Not sure if skaife can do it, he might be able to but he needs alot of people to have some bad luck. Courntey doesnt have a snow balls chance in hell, but we will see about that.

People who i reckon are in with a chance after seeing the first round.

1) Ingall- is consistent and manages to stay out of trouble, will have to see how he goes in the reverse grid races. If he gets his brake problems sorted he will be very fast this year.
2) Lowndes- lowndes has the pace and his car is more reliable than last year so we wont be seeing to many DNFs because of reliability issues. Provided he doesnt make mistakes like he did passing Mconville yesterday he will be close at the end.
3) Whincup- provided whincup keeps it clean and maintains the maturity he demonstrated on the weekend he will be there.
4) Todd Kelly- he is fast and much better at keeping out of trouble than Skiafe is. Skaife doesnt do coming from the back that well, he can but more often than not he is taken out by a back marker.
5) Rick Kelly- (christ i hope not i hate the man) he is in with a chance but the team doesnt produce cars that are fast on a consistent basis.
6) Tander- i would prefer if tander won than rick but being in the same team i dont like his chances. Mind you they are sharing info with HRT this year so things might change.
7) Richo- he is in with a chance and Larry has a renewed enthusiasm this year, but Larry's cars havnt been consistenly fast in recent years. Maybe its cause Russ left.

I reckon thats it. We will have to wait and see.

Its good to see that the FORDS are out dominating the season early.
Great race last weekend.

Hey loaded , I wouldnt say dominating if it wasnt for 888 racing things would be grim for the blue oval boys

To true NOZ but when you win both races thats what counts.

We only need one Ford at the front.

I am a Holden man but I am hoping that the season is a mixture of good results for both Ford and Holden.

I hope DJR and SBR can get it together with 888 racing to have a real competative season. As I think athough Holden did not win the Clipsal 500, many of there teams showed great pace and potential for the rest of the season.

I was suprised that HSV/Toll racing, Super cheap and HRT's had both thier cars on race pace and looking the goods.

There are a few of the Holden and Ford teams that are up there with the goods and its just luck who gets the flag first. Both manufactures cars are so close in tune its just the small things they do, and if the race falls your way you win.

Because its always so close that why it’s the great racing series that it is.
